The dam will provide access to water for 15 households and 112 people in the Dambilo zone of the village. The dam will help to raise the water table downstream of it and will enable the farmers to access water for their gardens, livestock and for household chores such as laundry, bathing and dishwashing.

Description

Haanamoonga village is located on the edge of the Zambezi escarpment in southern Zambia. The community in the village is made up of small scale farmers. The village has a rugged landscape which is prone to erosion. Haanamonga is situated in agroecological region with low and unreliable rainfall which averages 600mm per year. As a result there is food insecurity and limited access to water
