We design, implement and deliver whole catchment regeneration projects in in multiple countries, in collaboration with, local communities, international scientists, experts and local implementation partners.
What does a whole catchment design entail?
A project is not simply digging a pond or planting trees where one likes and that’s it. A lot goes into the regeneration of a landscape, not least reviving the river that flows through it, providing the water that is required for the region to be abundant with life and biodiversity. The whole area which holds the rain-water enabling the river in that landscape to flow, is called its catchment. In arid regions ( now 41% of the planet faces desertification) or in flooded regions, this is the work of THE FLOW PARTNERSHIP: we design whole catchment regeneration and implement the design till the region is regenerated (example: Reforesting Baran).
What does working together with local partners mean?
NOTHING in nature works solo and only when multiple elements come together, does nature give us a healthy landscape. When the sun, the moon, the worms, the soil, the plants, the animals, gravity, the water, the people (etc) ALL work together, then nature can be in balance. No community, no organisation, no country can regenerate the planet and make it healthy ALONE.
Through a rigorous process of selection and relationship building (which can sometimes take months), we choose the right local and international partners to work with. These partners are chosen because:
-
They have skills, experience and expertise in their relevant field
-
They have the capacity to deliver a long-term vision
-
They bring local community wisdom into the design with us
-
They enjoy trust and credibility with their local communities
-
They are looking to work collaboratively with global communities, scientists, partners, so that the impact can be far larger than the individual project alone.
-
They have honesty and integrity built into the very fabric of their organisation and work
-
They are able to step into a genuine collaborative partnership on a project to achieve its vision.
We have to work in partnership and mutual respect and trust to regenerate our planet.
What are the steps we undertake to deliver a project:
Vision, Scope, Design, Direction, Implementation, Achievement, Analysis, Education, Replication
Starting from the first look at a degraded area, to community consultations, a rigorous process of project design and staging, fundraising, implementation, research, replication, global collaboration and spread, we:

-
Identify and define the area
-
Start designing the project
-
Choose the multiple stakeholders and partners required for the above (including for research, finance, delivery, evidence analysis and global replication).
-
Fundraise
-
Survey the area (scientific, social, environmental and political influencing factors)
-
Deliver the project together (including training of local folk in the project area to build resilience)
-
Conduct simultaneous research and evidence analysis
-
Enable sharing of water literacy and landscape experiential education through the global water schools
-
Monitor resilience of the catchment over the project lifetime
-
Replicate successful and relevant techniques with communities globally
-
Impact the global climate change mitigation agenda
Starting from the first look at a degraded area, to it components, to community consultations, to a rigorous process of project staging and design to fundraising, to implementation, to replication and to global collaboration and spread.
We deliver whole catchment projects,
designed holistically
Enabling credible scientific research into mitigating the impacts of climate change
and
Replicating success with local communities.
